The figures were computed based on pre-tax profits earned from 1 June 2017 to 1 June 2018, without considering fees for agents, lawyers, managers, and estate executors. Recently, Katy Perry joined the effort to help raise $1 million for those affected by the Woolsey Fire in Malibu, which destroyed several residences. She sang at a benefit concert named One Love Malibu alongside other famous personalities such as Gwen Stefani, Natasha Bedingfield, Robin Thicke, Alanis Morissette, and Macy Gray. Perry also participated in an auction where she bid $50,000 for a date with Orlando Bloom, and the funds went to aid the victims.
The MalibuFoundation.org is set to receive the earnings from the fundraiser, and it will be distributed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Malibu. The fire that lasted for more than two weeks caused substantial damage to the area, resulting in three fatalities, around 1,500 buildings being burned, and nearly 100,000 acres being destroyed. The affluent coastal town’s star-studded community also suffered losses, with celebrities such as Thicke, Camille Grammer, Liam Hemsworth, and Gerard Butler having significant damage to their properties.
