Katy Perry’s ‘Incredible’ Backstage Struggle On ‘Idol’ Disney Night
It was Disney Night on “American Idol,” and Katy Perry was ready to blow everyone away with her “Elastigirl” look from “The Incredibles.” However, with great power comes great responsibility, and Katy had a backstage struggle unlike any other.
Graeme O’Neil, our trusted insider, takes us behind the scenes of Katy’s incredible transformation. It all started with the latex bodysuit that required a team of four people to get her into. “It’s like a second skin,” Katy joked, as she struggled to get her arms through the tight sleeves.
Next came the boots. They were thigh-high and laced up the front, but they were so tight that Katy couldn’t even bend her knees. “I don’t know how Elastigirl does it,” she quipped, trying to walk around in them.
The final touch was the wig. It was long and blonde, just like Elastigirl’s, but it was so heavy that it gave Katy a headache. “I feel like I have a helmet on,” she moaned, trying to adjust it.
Despite the challenges, Katy managed to pull off the incredible look and perform flawlessly on stage. She even impressed the judges with her rendition of “Under the Sea” from “The Little Mermaid.”
As the night came to a close, Katy reflected on her backstage struggle. “It was worth it,” she said, smiling. “I love Disney, and I love being able to bring these characters to life. It’s what makes ‘American Idol’ so special.”
