To complete her stunning outfit, she accessorized with all-black accents, silver earrings, and sleeked-back hair. The Clooney Foundation for Justice, established by George and Amal in 2016, revealed in a press release that their Albies aim to recognize courageous individuals who have dedicated their lives to justice despite significant personal risk.

At a recent star-studded event, George and Amal were joined by A-listers like Viola Davis, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, Mary J. Blige, and more. However, Scarlett Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost, was absent from the occasion. The couple last made a public appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in May for Johansson’s new movie, Asteroid City.
Recently, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were seen attending the wedding of Chris Evans, Johansson’s Marvel co-star, to Alba Baptista in Boston. The two actors got married in October 2020 in a private ceremony after being engaged since May 2019. They have a two-year-old son named Cosmo together and Johansson also has a 9-year-old daughter named Rose from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac, as well as past marriage to Ryan Reynolds. In a recent interview with PEOPLE in 10’s Makho Ndlovu, Johansson mentioned that returning to work as an actress after taking a break due to motherhood was made easier with Jost’s help. She said that having him around to assist with tasks such as burping the baby in the middle of the night was “incredibly helpful.” Johansson’s upcoming project is the film North Star, directed by Kristin Scott Thomas.
Last year, The Albies, which is named after renowned South African justice Albie Sachs, saw the presence of many A-list celebrities such as Dua Lipa, John Oliver, Julia Roberts, and Bruce Springsteen. This year’s event, which is the second annual iteration, presented five awards to activists and organizations from different parts of the world for their contributions in medicine, law, and journalism. Dr. Denis Mukwege, a Congolese gynecologist known for his human rights advocacy, received The Albies’ Lifetime Achievement Award. Iranian journalists Niloofar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi, who covered the death of Mahsa Amini in Iran, were given the Justice for Women Award. Scarlett Johansson also attended the event. She recently tied the knot with Colin Jost during the pandemic and referred to the experience as “weird” but “beautiful.”
The Foundation has given special recognition to several organizations including Ukrainian rights group Truth Hounds, free speech advocacy group the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression, and Thailand’s organization Thai Lawyers for Human Rights. They provide free legal support to victims of human rights abuses with a focus on protecting women, journalists, defenders of democracy, and minorities.
